I always LOVED this recording!
Wow that guitar sound is incredible. Phil Spector just died....
AN ICONIC DOO WOP SONG...CAN'T GET ANY BETTER
One of the alltime great groups just brautiful
Once again I am letting you know that this is not Bob B Soxx and the Blue Jeans, it is strictly Darlene Love and a bunch of singers at Gold Star studios doing backup. What a great song that should have never been pulled from the market so quick A masterpiece by this great lady of soul.
This song could make you go to church if you listen to it more than once in a row. A masterpiece from Spector & the great Miss Love.
P;ease change this & the picture to Darlene Love and not Bob B, Sox & the Blue Jeans. Philles 111.
As I said a couple of years agothis was the original "B" side of "Today" I Met The Boy I'm Gonna marry. The 2nd pressing was Playing for keeps. You cannot find an original 45 of this anywhere.
You don't get any better than this...what a beautiful voice. For those of us who were young adults at the time always knew Ms Love had a great voice, just never knew how great. I wonder if today's youth would appreciate such a talent...I don't see how they could not...
This was originally released as a "B" side by Darlene Love. Philles 111.
This was never released as Bob B Soxx and the Blue Jeans. It was originally released as the 1st "B' side of Darlene Love's (today I Met) the Boy I'm Gonna Marry. It was than pulled and the new B""si de was Playing For Keeps. This is a different take of the original which is much better.
I agree 100&
Darlene gets my vote for being the #1 female Vocal singer of all-times
What a powerful song, pure class.
The record is credited to Darlene Love, Philles label # PH111.
The other side was the A side I believe, Today I Met the Boy, I'm Gonna Marry.
It was an American version, bought in either Canada or the USA. I will see if I can get the information from my son in England.
Was this a UK pressing? My list of American Pressings by this group does not list it. If it is a US release, would you please list the label & # so I can inform my sources of the oversight. Never heard this before. Am a BIG Darlene fan; would like to see if I can't find a copy. Thank you for your help.
PURE SOUL!!!!! Hypnotic
I'm resting in the softness...Beautiful...
Among the most classically sweet, deep, and movingly bluesy vocals--with perfectly unique and excellent production--ever recorded.
I had the original '45. My son in England has it now. We used to all call it the 440 because on the record it was 4 min 40 seconds long. Everyone in my group knew what the 440 was. Amazing. I have been looking here for ages. Thanks so much. Mine always got stuck when she first said Friday.
Am3n to such a God Blessed Day✝️??❣️
